New Toy Train Rides in Darjeeling
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is launching exciting new train rides in Darjeeling. These special journeys will utilize the famous toy trains that run on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), a beloved tourist attraction.
Four New Special Trains
- Starting October 21, four new diesel-powered trains will run
- They will go between Darjeeling and Ghum
- These trains will run every day until December 5
- They’re meant to help with the many tourists who visit during this busy time

Currently, five trains equipped with these coaches are operating in the northeast, serving popular destinations like Haflong, Badarpur, Jorhat, Agartala, and Naharlagun.

Going a step further, NFR has created a scenic tourist hub at the Brahmaputra riverfront near the Bogibeel Bridge in Dibrugarh. This innovative attraction offers river cruises and even features a floating restaurant, providing visitors with unique ways to experience the beauty of the region.
